Creating - Inspiring - Expressing
For many years, knitting was how I expressed my love of fiber. After retirement, I found myself with more time to invest in learning a new skill and weaving caught my eye. The rhythm of the loom was like a mantra - allowing me to lose myself in the newly formed fabric.
My custom woven pieces incorporate fine, imported yarns as well as organic cottons or a variety of fiber blends. My weaving is done on multiple floor looms, including a 100 cm Glimakra, a 40” 16 shaft Macomber, a Louet David III, a Schacht Standard and a 22” Saori. A variety of Ashford, Glimakra and Kromski rigid heddle looms are used for teaching. Recently, a Glimakra Julia with drawloom and a 16 shaft Jane table loom joined the family.
My joy has been enhanced by instructing new weavers in finding their bliss -turning yarn into amazing fabrics - scarves, prayer and fashion shawls, table runners, napkins, blankets and wall hangings. I hope sharing my work will inspire those who may not think of themselves as artists to let go and create!
Enjoy the journey.....
